What is Collaborative Divorce?
Collaborative Divorce, also referred to as Collaborative Law, is a client centered process for settling issues related to separation and divorce. Clients work with specially trained lawyers, divorce coaches and other professionals to find solutions for both parties without going to court. While you and your partner are in the collaborative process, everyone (you and your partner, both lawyers and divorce coaches, and any other professionals involved) enter into a written agreement called a "Participation Agreement". This agreement states that so long as you and your partner are in the collaborative process, neither one of you will bring on a court application and that both parties agree to make full disclosure of all necessary documents and information, and agree to negotiate in good faith.
